Your days will include:

Dry and Full preventative services as well as safety inspections
Minor to Major repairs

Job summary
The Production Line Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and packaging equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. This role plays a critical part in supporting production goals, food safety standards, and overall plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance on bottling, filling, capping, labeling, and packaging equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Repair and replace defective parts, motors, sensors, belts, conveyors, and control systems
• Respond quickly to production line breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance
• Maintain maintenance logs and documentation
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Collaborating with production supervisors and quality control teams
• Follow all safety, GMP, and food safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist in any position where your help might be required.

Qualifications

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery, vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The nature of the position requires the maintenance technician to strive to have a strong mechanical aptitude, technical skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager

 

Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery, vehicles, equipment, and facilities (e.g., lubrication, filter changes, belt adjustments, inspections).
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to restore safe and efficient operation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and breakdowns.
• Conduct safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Work closely with the maintenance team and operations staff to coordinate activities and minimize downtime.
• Communicate daily tasks and priorities with the Maintenance Manager.

 

Skills Required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or a similar role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of equipment and maintenance practices.
• Ability to diagnose issues and perform effective repairs.
• Basic electrical knowledge preferred.

BVT Truck & Trailer Repair, a division of Steve’s Livestock Transport, is a diverse mechanic shop specializing in repairs and maintenance for all types of trucks and trailers as well as custom aluminum fabrication. Our company is a Designated Employer of the RCIP Immigration Pilot for Steinbach Region.

SHIFT

Day Shift (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Tuesday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:30pm

 

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Red Seal Mechanic preferred
  • Truck, Trailer or related experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Welding knowledge considered an asset
