Your days will include:

Dry and Full preventative services as well as safety inspections
Minor to Major repairs
Performing on-site or roadside response
Diagnosis and evaluation of symptoms and problems reported
Enter work orders, document time spent, parts list, etc.
Effectively communicate and provide updates to Service Coordinators
Ability to work on a wide variety of brands and types of equipment
Follow all safety guidelines and department SOPs

 

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

Red Seal Certification
2-3 years’ experience in heavy-duty mechanics
Class 1 license is an asset
Strong communication and organizational skills
A solid work ethic and the ability to work independently
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Capacity to analyze and prioritize repair and maintenance tasks

Qualifications

  • Excellent attitude
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a class 1 truck driver
  • Must have Valid Class 1 License
  • MUST BE US CAPABLE
  • Clear criminal record
  • Can provide drivers abstract
  • Minimum of 9200 miles per month Vans 10,000 decks (more avail this is min requirement)
  • Away from home 10-21 days at a time depending on where your home base is

Big Freight Systems is looking for a Fleet Manager to join our growing team. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the activity of a group of Class 1 Drivers, and to effectively communicate while keeping organization of their fleet.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day information of an assigned fleet within the TMS System
  • Effectively communicate, in a timely manner, with the driver population
  • Relay communication from drivers to the other stakeholders
  • Maximize availability and utilization of the drivers
  • Ensuring full compliance and adherence to all rules and regulations by your fleet
  • Retentions of driver though relationship building and trust
  • Manage inputs into the operating software accurately and timely reflecting your fleet and customers

Your days will include:
• Maintaining detailed records of all assets, including physical equipment, software, and other resources.
• Supporting the acquisition of new assets by identifying needs and recommending potential purchases.

• Developing and implementing asset management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
• Analyzing the financial aspects of asset management, including costs, depreciation, and return on investment.
• Preparing reports on asset status, performance, and compliance for various stakeholders.
• Collaborating with different departments, such as finance, operations, and purchasing, to ensure effective asset management.
• Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with asset management, such as obsolescence, damage, or theft.
• Preparing and communicating budgets for fleet replacement or new capex items to support all operational areas.

To succeed in this role, you must possess:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in asset management systems and software.
• Knowledge of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Competency in building detailed Capex budgets.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to execute on high priority projects with limited supervision.
• 10 years’ experience (or more) of major contract negotiations in the Fleet Asset field.

BVT Truck & Trailer Repair, a division of Steve’s Livestock Transport, is a diverse mechanic shop specializing in repairs and maintenance for all types of trucks and trailers as well as custom aluminum fabrication. Our company is a Designated Employer of the RCIP Immigration Pilot for Steinbach Region.

SHIFT

Day Shift (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Tuesday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:30pm

 

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Red Seal Mechanic preferred
  • Truck, Trailer or related experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Welding knowledge considered an asset

$4/hour Weekend Shift Premium

Work 36 hours a week, but get paid for 40 hours!
